We live in a world where everything is rated. Products and organizations are evaluated with stars or comments. If you call customer service you are asked if you would like to take a brief survey of your experience. Since calling customer service is always annoying the last thing I need is to waste more time confirming what they knew already.
It would be useful to know how previous house swap partners rated the home and family you were considering for an exchange. This exists in a limited way at many home exchange agencies.
Homelink shows you the response rate of each member to home exchange inquiries. Anything much less than 100% shows disrespect for the process or indicates that you need not apply unless your offering is exceptional. Homelink allows you to evaluate an exchange but this is only used to provide feedback to the organizers and your exchange partners.
Homeexchange.com allows you to give feedback on your exchange experience. These tend to be positive since the feedback only appears if those being evaluated agree to have it posted. You can use the advanced search function to only consider listings with feedback. If there is feedback for a listing there will be a link to it. The feedback goes away if the evaluator is not an active member.
Homeforexchange.com has “recommendations.” You can search for listings with recommendations and the summary result list has links to them. You can also click on the recommendations link on the home page and look at all 4,738 of them.
This information is beneficial. Our listing has three feedback posts at Homeexchange.com from families in France and Belgium. We have noticed that we are getting more inquiries from these countries as a result. If you have had a good exchange experience posting feedback or a recommendation is a friendly and helpful way to say thank you.
